Explanations
Iran is home to one of the world’s oldest continuous major civilizations, with historical and urban settlements dating back to 4000 BC. Kerman is located on a high margin of Kavire Lut (Lut Desert) in the central south of Iran. The history of human settlements in the territory of Kerman dates back to the 4th millennium BC.
This area is considered as one of the ancient regions of Iran and valuable historical vestiges have been discovered here. Ancient abandoned citadels such as Arge_bam (recently ruined in an earthquake) and rayan castle have been preserved in the desert for two thousand years. Historical documents refer to kerman as “karmania”, “kermania”, “Germania”, and “zermania”, which means bravery and combat. A village carved out of the mountains in Iran’s kerman province, Meymand is believed to be 6000 years old. Nomad Life of its resident made such wonderful way of living structure in desert.
Because of generation of adaptations to its desert surroundings, Yazd is an architecturally unique city. It is also know in Iran for the high quality of its handicrafts, especially silk weaving, and its sweet shop. Because of its remote desert location and the difficulty of approach, Yazd had remained largely immune to large battles and the destruction and ravages of war. Yazd is of foremost importance as a center of Persian architecture.
Lut desert is one of the largest of desert basins and also one of the driest and hottest. A NASA satellite recorded surface temperatures in the Lut desert of Iran as high as 71 C (159 F), the hottest temperature ever recorded on the surface of the Earth. There are reports that no living creature lives in this region. Its southeast is a vast expanse of sand, with dunes 300 m (1000 ft) High, among the tallest in the world.
