Explanations
Sabalan is the third highest mountain located in the extreme north west of Iran and a permanent crater lake has formed at the summit. Sabalan has a ski resort named Alvares and different attractive areas such as the Sarein spa. On the slopes of the mountain, there flows many mineral water springs which attract thousands of tourists each year, and many have their healed in the springs. The mountain is known for its beautiful vistas, including the Shirvan gorge, where few climbers ever venture. There are also many trails and a few very small villages in the area, as well as many nomadic people with their round "Yurt" tents. Visiting and seeing these more "Primitive" people is one of the best reasons for climbing the mountain.

Climate: Rarely you can find snow during summer in Sabalan.
Group Size: 1-30
Hardness Degree: It has different routes. Most of glaciers are in this mountain and it’s a destination for ice climbers. Normal rout is from North West side and it could be climbed from base came in a day.
