The 96th monthly meeting of Alpine Club of Iran will be on Wednesday, February 16th at Shahriyaran-e-Javan hall in Tehran downtown.
This meeting will start at 5:00 P.M. with mountaineering world news, which will be given by Abbas Sabetian, the president of ACI.
Afterwards, Farnoush Reisi is going to give a detailed reportage about the 4th Ice Climbing Festival of Iran that occurred two weeks ago in Roudbar-e-Qasran region.
The end part of 96th meeting is dedicated to a presentation by Abdol-Azim Berahmani about his attempt on Manaslu during last September and October. He touched C4 at 7400 m on the normal route and returned back home.
Cathy O'dowd, the firse lady who summited Mount Everest from both South and North faces will be the special guest of this meeting, she will be talking about the South Africa's mountain.

The 5-member team, which had gone to verify the situation after the fatal accident in "Paro" cave, fixed the dead body of Pedram Bouchani in a basket and returned to Kermanshah this morning to gather more cavers for evacuation operation.
A.Akbar m.Nejad, the leader of evacuation team told IMZ New: "The accident happened because of rope failure, when 26-year old pedram started abseiling the 8th pit with 39 meters depth. I’m really astonished about the decision made up to rappel on such an old abandoned rope?"
"They were 6 cavers from "Kalahoo" city in Kermanshah province; Pedram along with his brother, his mother and his father and two other friends. The group entered the cave on Saturday, Sep. 11th. The event happened on the second day and soon after, survivors ascent out the cave and called us for help. We reached the accident location in Monday’s evening, wrapped the dead body in a basket and prepared the anchors outward the cave," Morad Nejad added, "Now we are just waiting for more experienced cavers to join us. We will return back to "Paro" as soon as possible."
The first team members were Mehrdad Chavoshi, Hadi Jahangard, Reza Shahlaei and Asqar Zarrin all from Kermanshah Mountaineering Council.

International Mountain Day provides us with an opportunity to join with our friends and colleagues from the Hindu Kush-Himalayas and the rest of the world in creating awareness about the importance of mountains for sustenance, to highlight the opportunities and constraints in mountain development, and to build partnerships that will help bring positive change in the world's mountains and highlands.
The theme of this year‘s World International Mountain Day is ‘Disaster Risk Management in Mountains’. The theme aims to raise awareness of the increasing number of natural hazards in mountain areas and the increasing vulnerability of mountain communities to disasters. It draws the attention of policymakers to the need to adopt climate change adaptation strategies that reduce the risks of disasters in mountain areas. For example, sustainable water management, and agricultural, rangeland, and forestry practices should be put in place as key elements of risk reduction approaches at national and regional levels as part of integrated strategies and policies. In view of the increasing number of disasters in the Hindu Kush-Himalayan region – for example the Kashmir Earthquake in 2007, China Earthquake in 2008, Koshi Floods in 2008, and Aila cyclone in 2009, the theme appears

Four workshops is planned to be held during four-day festival of rock climbing from 17th to 21st of November in Kar-kooh canyon of Semnan province.
"Beside climbers’ attempt to open new sport and multi-pitch routes, festival’s organizers have planned four workshops about topics of descent systems, route’s sketch, clean climbing and incident command system (ICS) in big walls," Said festival manager, Farnoush Raeisi.
According to her, Hasan Gerami has been validated as technical authority of this festival.

The general assembly of Alpine Club of Iran, which has been held annually since 1999 will be held on Wednesday, November 11th in the evening.
"Based on 16th article of association of ACI, general assembly is assumed to be held annually in mid November. However in this year’s assembly, after a general report by ACI’s president, Abbas Mohammadi, Inspector, Behzad Torkashvand and a member of the board, Zaabiholah Hamidi are going to give their reports about last year’s turnover as ACI’s warden and bursar. The last program of the assembly is an election, where ACI’s members will vote to elect a new warden for the coming year," told ACI’s president, Abbaas Mohammadi.
After the election ceremoney, there will be an exciting program, where Hossein Boland-Akhtar will report a new route attempt on the west face of Mt. Alam-Kooh that was done in September, 2008.

The October's meeting of ACI will be held on Wednesday 29th Mehr1388 (21st October 2009), when lecturers with various standpoints are going to talk about "Mountain Hazards" that have happened to Iranian alpinists during recent years.
According to club’s announcement, Hamid Mosaeidian, member of both UIAA anti-doping committee and Iran’s Mountain Medicine Association, Davoud Mohammadifar, author of "Iran’s Mountaineering and Caving History" and Majid Sabet Zadeh, who is an experienced search and rescue man at "Friends of Yosemite Search and Rescue" will respectively give their viewpoints on this subject.
Based on meeting’s scheduling, the end program of this gathering is dedicated to a report by "Qajer" mountaineering group of Kurdistan province, who were in Mt. Nanga-Parbat searching for their missed friend "Saman Nemati". Saman was a member of an expedition of 7 Iranian alpinists from Damavand Club who was missed during summit push in July 2008.

The 80th public meeting of Club Alpine D'Iran will be held on Wednesday, 16th of September from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. in "Shahriaran-e-Javan" hall located in "Nejatollahi" Avenue of Tehran.
In the beginning of this gathering, Iran’s famous sport climber Artimes Farshad-Yeganeh, who had participated as Alpine Club’s representative in bouldering world cup of 2009 in France, will give a lecture on the competition.
Afterwards, Yousef Souri-Nia intends to give a speech in order to encourage domestic cavers toward new caving activities. Yousef is well-known for his several surveys in "Paru" cave of Kermanshah province.
Meeting is open for every one interests in alpinism.

Iranian Alpine Club intends to hold a training course late in October, 2009 to train climbers and especially big wall climbers how to perform rescue operations on vertical slopes.
Climbing accident’s management, first aids, rope techniques in rescue operations, evaluate and placement of anchor systems, standard extrication and patient packaging techniques, hauling systems are the main topics, which will be instructed by Majid Sabet-Zadeh, an Iranian member of "Friends of Yosemite Search and Rescue".
Climbers with more than 18 years old and ability to climb at least 5.9 are allowed to participate in this course, which is going to be carried out on Band-e-Yakhchal wall at the foot of Mt. Tochal.

"Up The Rocks" club of Armenia is organizing "Armenian First Ascent Open Festival (Arev)" in Armenia in a period of one month from July 1st to 31 st. On behalf of Armenian club, Alpine Club of Iran calls big wall climbers from all over the country to gather in a team and attend the festival with the aim of exchanging knowledge with climbers from other countries together with increasing the experiences of Iranian climbers in big wall climbing. According to Alpine Club’s official website, chosen expedition will participate in the festival during the last ten days of July.

Alpine Club of Iran recalls climbers all over the country to detect big walls in their regions. The request is to gathering proper information before decision making by Alpine Club of Iran and French GHM organization that are going to open up new routes on unclimbed or unknown faces in Iran. Holding an advanced big wall training course in Iran that was taught by GHM instructors, Iran’s Alpine Club has developed mutual collaboration with this French organization since two years ago.

در مهر ماه سال گذشته، همايش بينالمللی غارپيمايی با هدف تبادل تجربه و شناخت آخرين تكنيك های پيمايش و نقشه برداری غار ها با همكاری اتحاديه ی جهانی غارنوردی ( UIS )، باشگاه كوه نوردی و اسكی دماوند، انجمن كوهنوردان ايران و سازمان ميراث فرهنگی برگزار شد. اين همايش و اردو، سرآغاز تحولی در فعاليت های غارنوردی كشور شد و به دنبال آن دومين همايش غارنوردان كشور با ميزبانی غارپيمايان استان خراسان جنوبی و همكاری انجمن کوهنوردان ایران در اسفند ماه امسال به مدت ۴ روز در منطقهی غار بتون برگزار شد .
سومين همايش و اردوی غار نوردی، در تير ماه آينده با ميزبانی غار پيمايان آذربایجان(تبريز و مراغه) و همكاری انجمن كوهنوردان ايران (به ويژه دفتر نمايندگی ميانه و اعضای انجمن در مراغه) در شهرستان مراغه برگزار خواهد شد .

با نهايت تاسف ، خبر دار شديم يكي از كوه نوردان عضو باشگاه كوه نوردي و اسكي دماوند در منطقه ي رود كارون دچار حادثه شده و در
گذشته است .
مراسم ياد بود آن مرحوم در روز سه شنبه در مسجد النبي ( تهران – خيابان امير آباد – روبروي كوي دانشگاه ) ساعت 18:30 تا 20 برگزار
مي شود .

قابل توجه گروه ها و باشگاه هاي كوه نوردي استان تهران
با سلام ؛
در راستاي بند 1 ماده ي 2 اساسنامه ي انجمن كوه نوردان ايران كه « گسترش همكاري ورزشي و تحكيم دوستي ميان كوه نوردان » را نخستين هدف انجمن دانسته است ، در نظر داريم به منظور گسترش هر چه بيشتر فعاليت هاي انجمن ، جذب همكاري موثر تر گروه ها و باشگاه هاي كوه نوردي ، و مشاركت اعضاي اين سازمان ها در مديرت انجمن ، نشست ويژه اي داشته باشيم .
